How To Draw An Old Man Step-By-Step

1st Step;

The first step in our guide to drawing an elderly man is his head and face. For the bald top of his skull, draw a straight line.

Next, create a smaller curve for his eyelids and then add his large nose. Then, you can place a mustache underneath his nose. Finally, add a sharp little bit of chin.

We will draw the shape of his hair on the opposite side of his head with his round ear in it. We can then move on to the next stage by drawing some lines around his neck.

2nd Step:

Now that you have the outline of your old-man drawing, we can add more details.

Begin by drawing some lines on his right half-closed eye. Next, add a thick eyebrow to it.

To give his face a more aged look, we will add some curved lines around his eyes.

Next, draw more detail inside his neck. The collar of his shirt will be drawn at the base of the neck.

3rd Step:

In this step of , we will be moving away form the head and focusing more on his arms.

Remember that when drawing, the arm on the left side will be bent at the back of the artist, while the one on his right will rest on his cane.

Keep this in mind as you draw his shirt using curved lines.

Next, draw his chest, waist and arms. Finally, draw his hands at the ends and sleeves.

As this will reveal that he is slightly hunched over, you can have him pose at the same angle as the image.

4th Step:

We will now draw your elderly man’s first leg with his cane. You might use a ruler to ensure that the sides of his cane are straightened.

You can also draw a small rectangle on the rubber portion.

Next, draw a belt just below his waist for the first leg. To show that he is walking forward, draw the leg.

We will see the shoe’s underside because of the position. After you have drawn the details, it is time to move on to the next step.

5th Step:

This fifth step in is our guide on drawing an elderly man. We will finish the last details before you color it in the next step.

To show he’s walking, he will extend his leg backward. The show on this leg will also be bent to show he’s in mid-stride.

We will be able to move on once this leg has been drawn. You can also add details or elements to the drawing before you move on.

What background setting could you imagine for this elderly man? You might even be able to draw additional characters with him!

6th Step:

This is the last step in your old man drawing. In it, we will add some color. We used muted colors such as light yellows or browns in our reference image for his clothing. You could also go for a similar look.

If you’d like, you could use completely different colors. Get creative and make it look just the way you want.
